2. How did you find your passion?
Growing up in Welkom, South Africa, Serame faced physical and academic challenges. He began walking at age five and overcame early setbacks to become a top achiever in secondary school. His passion emerged from these trials—a deep desire to uplift others and rewrite the narrative around disability.

His first paid speaking engagement marked a turning point. It wasn’t just validation—it was a signal that his voice mattered, and that his story could inspire change.
6. What kept you going when you felt like giving up?
Community. Faith. And the belief that his ability would always outshine his disability. Playing for Matjhabeng Disability Football Club and later for Region Lejweleputswa reminded him that strength comes in many forms.
7. What motivates you daily?
The faces of those he serves through Embrace Ambition. The students he’s supported as a teacher’s assistant. And the knowledge that every step forward opens doors for others.
