The Fund for Authors and Producers from Africa (FAPA) 2026 has officially opened applications, offering a unique opportunity to strengthen the creative industries across Sub-Saharan Africa and Haiti.

What is FAPA?

FAPA is a cultural initiative designed to support training, mentoring, and mobility programs for authors and producers in the film and audiovisual sectors. It aims to amplify African and Haitian voices, foster collaboration across borders, and ensure gender parity in creative participation.

Funding

  • Up to €80,000 per organisation
  • Supports multi-country programs with a focus on capacity-building and professional development

Who Can Apply?

  • Organisations legally established for more than 24 months in Africa (including North Africa) or partner countries (Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Canada, France, Luxembourg, Greece)
  • Must have proven experience in supporting film/audiovisual creators
  • Programs must be conducted in French, English, or Portuguese

Eligible Participants

  • Authors from Sub-Saharan Africa or Haiti with at least one screened audiovisual work
  • Producers with professional experience in the film/audiovisual sector

Timeline

  • Application deadline: 24 June 2026
  • Selected programs must begin within 12 months and conclude within 24 months
